More productive processes. Better operational capacity.

The Process Productivity Improvement programme focuses on one defined business process or connected workflow. We assess the causes of delays, repeated effort and variability, then structure and oversee improvements that can be tested against an agreed baseline.

Typical triggers

  • A process requires repeated manual checks.
  • Handoffs between teams cause delays.
  • Output depends on a small number of experienced employees.
  • Work volumes increase without corresponding productivity.
  • Automation pilots have created tools but not changed the underlying workflow.

Programme workstreams

  1. 01

    Map the actual workflow

Compare prescribed processes with real execution using interviews, selected operational records and process data.

  2. 02

    Establish the baseline

Record throughput, handling time, error rates, unit cost and service constraints.

  3. 03

    Design alternatives

Consider elimination, standardisation, decision automation, AI support and supplier changes. Evaluate security, regulatory and quality requirements before selection.

  4. 04

    Run a controlled pilot

Define the pilot population, monitoring responsibilities and stop criteria. Ensure there is a clear owner for decisions and exceptions.

  5. 05

    Oversee adoption

Coordinate implementation milestones, operating guidance and feedback loops. Test whether the proposed change works under ordinary operating conditions.

Outputs and measurement

Process map, constraint analysis, intervention options, pilot plan, delivery register and comparative measurement report. KPIs may include cycle time, first-time-right rate, cost per case, throughput per team and exception rate.

Appropriate use

Most relevant to repeatable, measurable processes where operating owners can participate. It is not a substitute for a security assessment, regulated technical certification or wholesale enterprise software integration.

Next step

An initial conversation can establish whether a focused assessment or a defined Process Productivity Improvement programme is appropriate.
